This is an image I took back in 2001 with an old CoolPix camera in my local Walmart in Hood River, Or. The kid in the shot is my good friend Blaine Franger’s little brother, Colin.

I was looking through some old shots looking for something to post about and found this one that I thought was kind of interesting. I will see if there are any more cool old shots I can find and post them later.

Last week we had a kids camp called “Kirara” Kids which means to shine or sparkle in Japanese. Believe me it doesn’t sounds so cheesy in Japanese. It’s like a mini Windell’s or High Cascade Snowboard Camp, only in Japan with Japanese kids. The Kirara camp is run by former Olympian Michio Hashimoto and her husband Hayato. The kids were between 8 and 13 years old and total rippers in the park. One boy who is only 12 was doing backside 720s off the 10m kicker. It was really fun to be there and be part of the camp. NORTHSTAR provided the park, lodging and program which also included Mt. Biking and some other games so we were all pretty busy all week.
