The best mini tripod ever

So when I was in Tokyo I also got a new toy. It's called a Joby and the thing really works. I am a total skeptic when if come to this kind of stuff and when I first saw the thing I was like "yeah right, that thing is totally lame". But then I saw how it can be used and played with it in the store and then eventually bought one. I had to pay a lot more though because everything in Japan is expensive so that price at BH Photo is a steel.

Tokyo Fireworks

I just got back from a nice trip to Tokyo with my wife. We went to a rad fireworks show, I had never seen anything like it before.

Summer Festival

So last night I went to the local "Matsuri" [Summer Festival] which was held on the main street of our town. It was pretty cool and there were lots of people out. Last year we missed it because we were in the US getting married and so this also was our first anniversary. As it turned out the Summer Festival is more of a flea market than anything else. There were people all over the place selling their junk. Lot's of clothes and the typical garage sale junk. Anyway, I was walking with my wife and my camera as usual and something caught my eye. A Sector 9 long board that looked new and it had a tag for ¥3000 yen [$30.00]. I looked in my wallet and all I had was ¥2000 so I asked the guy if he would sell it for ¥2000 and he said how about ¥1000 because he didn't want to leave me broke. Pretty good find and my wife also got some cool old Doraemon cups for about ¥100.
