Pregnant is Cute

Well I think I am a little bias to this because it's my wife who is pregnant. She is 31 weeks along now. We went out the other day after church and had a little shoot. It was fun walking around our neighborhood looking for places to shoot. We ended up finding this cool swing that you can see in the photos below.

Koichi Inakoshi - 稲越功一

Two days ago I had a really cool chance to meet a photographer named Koichi Inakoshi. He is very famous in Japan and his work has been featured in several big publications here. He came to the school I am working at to do a photo contest with the over 700 students. I will have to see if I can get a scan of the winning photo and post that later. So here are a few snaps from that day.

Catfish Festival - なまず祭り

Yesterday I had an awesome opertunity to shoot a fall festival called なまず祭り or "Catfish Festival" in English. The festival has been going for over a hundred years and is very traditional. I am still processing the images so here are just a few to hold you over. The photos below are of a Japanese fox wedding. There was a drama group that put on an amazing performance and I got to see some Japanese culture that I have never seen before. More photos to come.

The New Mac OS X

I don't know if anyone else is following Apple's newest Mac OS "Leopard" or not but just in case your not as big of an Apple fanboy as I am and didn't know. It's going to be out next Friday the 26th. There are some pretty huge new features coming with it. I think the biggest is one called Time Machine
. It lets you go back in time and recover almost anything that has ever been deleted from your Mac. And it also will automate your backup process for your entire machine, not only some files. This feature alone could save a lot of trouble over lost or deleted files. So here is a link to Apples page about the 300+ new features, check it out.

Nagoya Zoo

The other day I visited the Nagoya HigashiYama Zoo with some friends. It was pretty cool although I always feel bad for the animals being trapped in the little boxes having a bunch of people look at them all the time. I would hate that. The zoo was a lot bigger than I was thinking it would be for Japan.
